hi all i just bought an 88 yamaha terrapro for $100 dollars it has a
pto and hookups for catogory 1 3 point hitch it has a thumb
control throttle and a lever that also controls the gas like a tractor
has it has a locker in the rear so it wont tear up the grass 5
speed trans with high and sub low 2 wheel drive it even has a kill
switch that only works when the pto is engaged so when you fall off the
mower wont run over you the plastic is still shinny the frame
is rust free every thing on it works somebody installed an hour meter
when it was new and it only has 700 hours only thing wrong is the
gasket on the carb bowl leaks gas i have hooked a 4 ft
woods finish mower and a 4ft tiller behind it and it runs them great
does any body know what size the motor is i cant find any # my
local yamaha dealer who has been selling atvs since the early 80s has
never heard of the terrapro and cant give me any info about it
how long did yamaha make these how much did they cost where do i get
parts do any of the other atv manufactures make something like this
i think this is the greatest thing since sliced bread thanks
for your help

$100??? Man...you got the deal of the century!! The Terrapro was a great
idea in it's time. The ATV world just wasn't ready for it back then. It
was only made for one year, I believe...1988. No other major manufacturer
has ever made anything like it. Here a link to Yamaha's website that
tells a little about it:
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/atv/epic/1988_terrapro_small.html

I've seen various parts, manuals, and attachments sell on Ebay for the
Terrapro. Might see what's on there. Your Yamaha dealer should be able to
get some parts. I'm surprised he doesn't remember that model. You might
be able to get some good information on one of the ATV forums. Here are a
few to check out:

Wouldn't be looking to sell it, would ya?

Sold mine about 4 years ago for 2500. Was told they were not making any parts
for them anymore. It was a real workhorse. I have the service manual if you are
interested. E-mail me

It seems like Yamaha's utility machines in that era didn't have the
reputation or popularity that the Suzuki or even the Honda had. Not sure
why, but public opinion is usually a decent indicator.

As far as parts go Jeff is right, we have a customer with a Terrapro and
there are some availablity issues. They are quite unique and that effects
parts directly.
